Goodbye and Hello

Goodbye to March. . . Hello to April!  My run of posting at least once a month has ended.  Oh well. . . I will regroup and try to not let this hiccup thwart my journaling efforts.  I really can't come up with a good excuse other than the last week of March we spontaneously decided to join the family at several events, Easter being one.  So the last week of March we trekked down south again, albeit in a skiwampas fashion!

Just to sum up the first 3 weeks of March, they went like this:  Brent was super busy--traveling, always on the phone, putting out "fires" here and there. . . pretty much his daily life for the past 30 years.  He is amazing.  He handles everything so well, and I am so grateful for him.  I enjoyed March Madness (decided that I'm a fan who is bound to be heartbroken every year),  worked on several sewing projects, hung out with my Cub Scouts, and shamelessly found Downton Abbey on Streampix and watched all 3 seasons!

Brent was able to complete his travel plans on March 26th, but needed an extra day here in Spokane.  So, I hopped on good ol' Southwest and made it to Utah in time to see Jace be a presenter at the TEDxBYU event.  He did amazing!  TEDx is technology, entertainment and design . . . all to promote social innovation and philanthropy.  This is the field Jace hopes to work in following graduation.  He was one of four student fellows who spoke (along with 8 entrepreneurs and professionals from various disciplines).  He spoke about his time in Uganda teaching micro business owners the principles of accounting.

Brent pulled in to Utah late on Thursday night, and on Friday we were able to see Fictionist perform at the Velour.  I love seeing the band live.  Their album is finished and Atlantic will be releasing it here soon.  It was amazing.  Stuart and the guys have really polished their sound and stage performance.  My son in law really is a rock star!  I can't wait to see all the good things that are in store for them after this long process.

On Saturday Brent, Jace and Russell went dirt bike riding.  Stu and the band were in St. George so he couldn't come.  They had a blast. . . just like little boys with big expensive toys.  Us girls went shopping and enjoyed the day together.  Sunday was a warm and sunny Easter Day.  We had a lovely dinner together. . . that is my favorite part. . . just being together.  Family is really what it is all about.

Big boys and their toys.
I was able to get a couple of days in Richfield before heading home to visit Mom and Dad.  Mom is still in the care center.  She is now struggling with a blood clot in her leg which is very painful and is making her physical therapy difficult.  We are hoping that she can get home within the next month or so.  She hasn't been home since last August.  It is a day to day thing--she just has to get a little bit stronger.

On my way back home I stopped in Idaho to visit Lindsay, France and Sam for a couple of days.  They are anxiously awaiting baby Bennett's arrival any day now.  Of course, he's being stubborn and not showing up when his Mom would like!

So, that's the rundown.  I realize that my travels are the source of most of my posts, but honestly, our everyday routine is pretty much just that, and it is the time with family that makes precious memories and puts a smile on my face!  It was so good to listen to the Prophet and Apostles these past few days and be taught once again about what is important.  I'm so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Grayson sitting on Brent's dirt bike!  He's in his Easter Sunday bowtie!  Soooo cute.

Gosh. . . just love that little guy!  His Mom kind of likes him too.
We all love this little guy to pieces.   He's the first of many more to come!
